Gordons is a native of Warri in Delta State in Nigeria and spent most of his formative years there.

According to him, his parents separated when he was 3 months old and was raised by his grandmother. Both his parents after separation later went on to remarry. Gordons is a graduate of Delta State University where he studied Integrated science. He started out his music in the choir at World of Life Bible Church [ 6 ] [ 11 ] and later was part of the music group DC Envoys before his foray into comedy [ 12 ] which he started in when he moved to Lagos from Warri.

According to Gordons himself he reveled that growing up for him was hell because they were the poorest of the poor and even the people considered as poor used to call them poor people, it was that bad. I would go out and fish all morning so that we could have something to eat and sell. But thank God I found favour in the sight of my friends in school and the teachers.

My friends would ask me to teach them what was taught because I was very intelligent and in return, they would buy food for me or give me money. It was hell growing up, but it taught me a lesson in life that it is only God that lifts a man up. He struggled to make it in life despite his humble beginnings. He can also afford to buy other expensive clothing and accessories like his suits and shoes which is his brand image.
